Cookies & browser storage

A record of the storage used by this edition. Updated September 26, 2026.

Current storage inventory

The game code does not create browser cookies. It uses local storage for the preferences below. No advertising or analytics service is installed in this edition. This inventory covers browser storage created by the application. It does not describe connection logs that the website host or its security services may create. The hosting provider is not yet identified.

Storage keyWhat it holdsWhen the game writes it
orbit-bestThe highest mass saved on this browserWhen settings are saved, a round pauses or ends, or the page is left
orbit-profileThe nickname and selected avatar styleWhen you edit the character or start a round
orbit-soundThe sound enabled/disabled preferenceWhen you toggle sound or other game settings are saved

Each record is stored under this site’s origin. The application gives it no expiry date. It remains until you delete it, your browser evicts it, or a private-browsing session ends. The game does not copy these records to a server.

Erase or restrict storage

Use the local data controls to reset the score or erase the game records. In your browser settings, look for site data, website data, or storage permissions for this site. You can remove its stored data or restrict future storage there.

If storage is unavailable, the game continues with preferences held for that visit. A future visit may start with the default character, muted sound, and no remembered best score. Blocking cookies alone does not necessarily block local storage; browser controls vary.

Other browser behavior

Your browser may cache the HTML, scripts, and styles to speed up a later load. This edition does not install a service worker. Ordinary cache entries and browser history are controlled by the browser and are separate from the three game records above.

The Contact page’s report-copy action uses the clipboard only when you select Copy. Removing game storage does not clear the clipboard.

If services change

A host, CDN, analytics tool, or ad network can introduce its own cookies or storage. Review the actual production network and browser storage; this inventory only describes the game application. Keep this page and the privacy policy aligned with any services actually enabled. Any applicable consent requirement must be handled before the relevant storage or processing takes place.
